WHAT IS BULLYING?
Lots of situations might feel like bullying, but three factors are needed for them to be considered bullying:
1. Aggressive behavior by another kid or group of kids who are stronger or more popular than you are (or think they are)
2. This kid or group of kids wants to hurt you, your feelings, or your relationships with others
3. This kid or the group continues aggressive behaviors or is likely to do it again.
WHAT IS NOT BULLYING?
It’s not bullying if someone doesn’t mean to harm you, hurt your feelings about your being shorter or looking young for your age, or isn’t trying to damage your relationships with other kids. It’s also not bullying if someone stops doing what’s upsetting you immediately after you ask it to be stopped.
